Some users are running into problems when uploading a photo for their classified ad listing.

The #1 reason for an error message during a photo upload has to do with the photo size.  Many of the new digital cameras (bigger than 5 MegaPixels) default to their highest photo size setting which can create photos anywhere from 3MB to 8MB in size. 

Prior to uploading your photo, try resizing it first on your computer to a smaller size.  Then do the upload.  Not only will this prevent error messages, but uploading a small file is Quick!

Today we have added a few new options to the messaging feature within each classified ad.

As before, you are still required to be Signed In prior to sending a message.

With this update, you now have the option to automatically include either your Email Address, your Phone Number, or Both when you send a message to a classified ad that has been posted to the site.

Why is this Important!

This new feature makes communication between buyer and seller easier by allowing the potential Buyer to include more contact information.

At the same time, we have made this feature optional in order to ensure that we are protecting the privacy of all of our users.

Direct Ad Link in Emails

Also new today is the inclusion of a direct link to your classified ad in the body of every email that goes out.

The Local Services Directory will allow local businesses to list and promote their service within our online directory.  Our directory will be cross-linked with our classified sections as appropriate.

Many of you have notified us that after deleting an ad from your account listing, the next day, the ads would keep showing back up again! -

We have determined the cause of this problem and have implemented a fix to keep those ads from re-appearing every day.

In the neverending battle with scammers who search the world over for classified web sites to scam people on, we have done a number of things here to block as much of it as possible.

The majority of scammers usually come from overseas - The easiest way to tell a scam is:

1.  They want you to "Ship" the item using a shipping company

2.  They have bad grammar, cannot spell, or say weird phrases (like "advert")

3.  They are sending you a Money Order or Cashiers Check

Simple rule: 

  #1 - Never accept a money order or cashiers check - ALWAYS ASK FOR A PERSONAL CHECK - THEN WAIT FOR IT TO CLEAR

  #2 - TALK TO THEM ON THE PHONE - If you do not talk to someone on the phone - Don't make a deal or give out your address

We have cut down recently on scamming activity by effectively banning all computers that appear to come from outside the US or Canada - But, some of these scams still come from inside the US -

If you get a message that seems strange - Send it to us through the Contact Form.

We have received a number of emails from you letting us know that the search results were either excluding your listing, or, that the overall counts of search results were incorrect -

 Today we have implemented a few bug fixes and the search results should now be functioning normally again -

To add more photos to your ad, just login to the member center, Modify you add, and add up to 5 Photos in Total!

Hurry and get those ads in before the end of the month!

Over the past few months, we have worked hard to bring you not only private sale classifieds, but also related items for sale from Real Estate Agencies and Car Dealers.

Having these items allows you, the shopper, to choose from even a wider variety of items and will help you find the specific item you are searching for, no matter who is selling it.  Looking for a 2001 Ford F-150? - We have not only MORE private sale classifieds than anyone, we also have MORE Dealer Inventory than anyone.

Even though we believe that this is a great and useful feature of the site, many of you have requested an easier way to separate private sale from Dealer or Agency items -

We have added a NEW OPTION that appears now at the bottom of every page.  You will see a button titled "VIEW PRIVATE SALE ONLY".  Clicking this button will eliminate non private sale from the listings.
